For the first time BNP Consulting, on November 21’st 2006 in Copenhagen, Denmark, handed out awards to vendors of the leading content management systems (CMS) that are being marketed on the European market.

BNP Consulting presented two types of awards within different categories of importance for buyers of CMS. The Leader awards are given to the vendors of the best systems and the Challenger awards are for upcoming CMS which are very close to the best in the market.

These CMS awards are the first of its kind in the world. With the awards impartial advisors BNP Consulting wish to acknowledge Best Practice within the CMS world to the benefit of the users.

An impressive lineup of international system vendors were present at the award show in Copenhagen, Denmark, to collect their awards. Among the winners of Leader awards present at the award show were:

Microsoft (USA), Coremedia (Germany), EPiServer (Sweden), Tridion (Holland), Sitecore (Denmark), Composite (Denmark), Mediasurface (England) and Fatwire (USA).

Also Open Source CMS projects TYPO3, Umbraco and Ez Systems won awards.

The foundation of the CMS awards is the annual BNP CMS and Portal Benchmark Analysis. BNP Consulting has selected 38 leading CMS and portal vendors to participate in this years analysis. In the period of April – August 2006 the vendors have provided a large amount of information about their services and products.

More than 14.000 pages of information about the 38 systems have now been analysed by BNP Consulting who has written a summary containing the main conclusions and trends within the European CMS market.
